EDV-technische Verknüpfung der Teilnehmer von multimodalen Versorgungsketten durch Datenkommunikations-Systeme der Seehäfen. Neben den Nachfragern von Güterverkehrsleistungen (Importeur, Exporteur, Versender) sind die Anbieter dieser Leistungen (Reeder, Bahn-Gesellschaften, Straßengütertransportbetriebe, Spediteure, Agenten, Kai- und Umschlagsbetriebe, Tallybetriebe) sowie die Hafenbehörden über diese Systeme untereinander vernetzt. Zukünftige Entwicklungen zielen darauf ab, diese Systeme um zusätzliche Funktionalitäten im Gefahrgutbereich und für die Lenkung des zu- und ablaufenden Verkehrs zu erweitern sowie die Integration von Internet-Diensten weiter zu erhöhen.
